Rawwater Engineering Company Ltd / Three Conference Papers in Two Days

At the end of June 2023, data from Rawwater's suite of unique pressurised bioreactors will be used to support three industry conference papers, highlighting the importance of understanding subsurface geomicrobiology.

The ISMOS-9 conference, scheduled to be held between 27th and 30th June 2023 is the largest event discussing microbiology and molecular biology in the oil and gas industry. This conference explores the application of emerging microbial and molecular tools to help resolve challenges faced by the industry.

On Thursday 29th, bioreactor data captured in Rawwater laboratories will be used to support the presentation delivered by Renato De Paula of Solvay Oil & Gas Solutions in Session 03 ‘Oil and Gas Microbiome, Problems and Solutions Offered Papers’. This paper will demonstrate the use of Rawwater bioreactor technology to evaluate biocide application for souring control following nitrate cessation.

The following day, Rawwater's Head of Division and Senior Research Scientist, Matt Streets, will present a paper during Session 05 ‘Monitoring, Control, Diagnostics and New Methods for the Energy Sector Offered Papers’ at 11:00am UK time. The paper will describe the consolidation of weak sand-zones in oilfield reservoirs using microbial biofilms, in collaboration with Equinor.

Finally, for anyone heading over to The Woodlands, Texas next week to attend the Society of Petroleum Engineers International Conference on Oilfield Chemistry, be sure to catch paper #213792 during Session 11 ‘Water Management Through the Field Life’.

This presentation will be delivered by David Armstrong of Solvay on June 29th, and will describe how Rawwater’s bioreactor capability was used to simulate the control of biofouling and microbial souring.
