Rawwater is proud to announce our participation in the 10th International Symposium on Applied Microbiology and Molecular Biology in Oil Systems (ISMOS-10), taking place from August 11–14, 2025, in Nashville, USA.

Recognised as one of the premier global forums for microbiology in the energy sector, ISMOS brings together researchers, operators, and technology providers to address the latest scientific and technological developments in microbial monitoring and control.

This year, our Principal Scientist, Matt Streets, will present in Session 03: Oil and Gas Microbiome – Problems and Solutions.

His talk, titled “Evaluating Sub-Optimal Nitrate Dosing with High-Pressure Bioreactors and Molecular Analysis,” will showcase pioneering research conducted in collaboration with Microbial Insights, Inc.

The presentation focuses on the challenges of microbial sulfate reduction in oilfield environments, a persistent issue that can lead to reservoir souring and operational inefficiencies. Using Rawwater’s advanced high-pressure bioreactor technology, the study simulates real-world field conditions to test the efficacy of nitrate as a mitigation strategy. Combined with in-depth molecular analysis, the research delivers new insights into how nitrate dosing can be optimised to better manage microbial activity under reservoir-like pressures and temperatures.
